Top 3 Budgeting Tips For When You Send Money Internationally

Sending money to someone in an oversees country, whether it be Columbia or Australia or Germany, is a bit more complicated than sending money to someone domestically.

It’s also a bit more expensive. Unfortunately, you don’t get to send money for free. Each bank or exchange firm has different exchange rates and fees that they will charge you, and if you aren’t aware of some basic strategies to reduce the amount of these fees, you’ll end up paying a lot more than you really should.

Here are the top three budgeting tips for when you send money internationally:

Tip #1 – Find An International Transfer Service

Even though banks are definitely the most common choice for making an international transfer, there’s a very good reason why international transfer services are still in business and doing well: they’re cheaper.

Banks can charge around the $50 mark for making an internat

4 Questions to Answer before Changing Jobs

Change is as good as rest, so it is said. However, should you presumptuously take it because it is supposed to be good? This is a critical question to ponder over when contemplating changing jobs. Your current employer might not be meeting your needs. You may have missed the promotion you have worked hard towards, or your boss has not upscaled your benefits as you had agreed. Another reason might be the new head of department who seems not to appreciate your work but does not understand his own either.

However, stop and think about the following questions before you say quits and take that enticing opportunity.

Do you know the company culture?

Company culture is what has kept or is driving you out of your current workplace. It is what will keep you at the next. You may have all the necessary qualifications, but if you cannot fit in, the move will be your downfall. Consider

Some RV-based businesses are portable vending locations that sell services and products, while yet others are simply a home office that goes wherever you go.

While home based businesses have become more and more common in recent years, something else that has been steadily picking up steam is an RV based business. An RV based business is the exact same thing as a home based business, with the one exception being that it’s based in your RV.

That’s literally the only difference, so if you believe in your ability to start a home based business or have already started one, then you should easily be able to start an RV based business as well.

If touring the country in your RV and bringing your business with you is something you’ve always wanted to do, you’ll love to hear that there is absolutely nothing to prevent you from doing so.

Using Your Accounts to Increase Your Profits

The bottom line for any business is profit, the money you get to call your own after you have paid for everything else. You could have a revenue in the hundreds of thousands, but if your expenditure is also in the same region, your profits will be negligible. It means that your financial planning must be geared towards making a profit rather than just increasing revenue. You may not realize it, but you have a very powerful tool at your disposal that will enable you to increase your profits. Your accounts are full of valuable data just waiting to be harvested, so if you’re not making full use of them now’s the time to have a look at what your figures are telling you.

Three Low-risk Investments to Consider

Taking risks is something that many people are afraid of when it comes to investing. People tend to want to hit it big but spend as little as possible just in case things don’t go the right way. Although there are ways of taking calculated risks, the greatest rewards tend to come from the bigger risks. All you can do, ideally, is study the market and use your gut instinct as well as hope for good fortune when you’re investing as there are no guarantees of the outcome you’ll get. If you want to play it on the safe side or have a lot at stake, then perhaps you should consider low-risk investments. That way, you’re able to make a profit but don’t have to risk it all to do so. This article will explore three low-risk investment options for you to consider.

Trade War - China Says Ready to Defend its Interests in U.S. Trade Spat

By Ryan Woo and Hallie Gu

BEIJING, March 24 (Reuters) - The United States has flouted trade rules with an inquiry into intellectual property and China will defend its interests, Vice Premier Liu He told U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin in a telephone call on Saturday, Chinese state media reported.

The call between Mnuchin and Liu, a confidante of President Xi Jinping, was the highest-level contact between the two governments since U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans for tariffs on up to $60 billion of Chinese goods on Thursday.

The escalating tension sent shivers through financial markets as investors foresaw dire consequences for the global economy if trade barriers start going up.

In the call with Mnuchin, Liu, a Harvard-trained economist, said China still hoped both sides would remain "rational" and jointly work together to keep trade relations stable, the

Dollar near one-month low on trade war worries

By Saqib Iqbal Ahmed

NEW YORK, March 23 (Reuters) - The U.S. dollar hovered near a one-month low against a basket of major currencies on Friday and was on course for its biggest weekly drop in five as investors worried that escalating trade tensions could hurt global growth.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of six other major currencies, was down 0.48 percent at 89.427. For the week, the index was down 0.9 percent.

China urged the United States on Friday to "pull back from the brink" as President Donald Trump's plans for tariffs on up to $60 billion in Chinese goods moved the world's two largest economies closer to a trade war.

"People seem to be being just a little cautious with so many headlines coming out, and wondering what the next headline could be and how the market is going to react to it," said Chuck Tomes, senior investment analyst

Japan Loses Out Amid China Trade Threat That Shakes Markets

TOKYO, March 23 (Reuters) - As U.S. President Donald Trump dealt a blow to China with plans to slap tariffs on $60 billion of trade, he quietly delivered a slap in the face to one of Washington's closest allies, Japan, which got no exemption from earlier announced duties.

The move to exclude most U.S. allies, but not Japan, from steel and aluminum tariffs that took effect on Friday is an apparent snub to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who has assiduously courted Trump since he was elected.

U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer also ratcheted up pressure for a bilateral trade pact with Tokyo, which has been in sporadic talks with Washington on cutting Japan's trade surplus.

Abe was the first foreign leader to travel to New York and meet Trump in the days after the November 2016 election, when he presented him with a golf club worth nearly $4,000 and showered praise on

Diversifying With Your Degree

Graduating with a bachelor's degree is a great moment in your life and just reward for the years of hard work you put in to get there. What do you do next? Have you discovered, during your student years, that the specific field covered by your degree isn't one that you want to work in? That's more common than you might think, but the good news is that once you've gained a degree in any subject, it's then much easier to diversify into a job in a field that really appeals to you.
The Transferable Skills Of A Typical Graduate
All graduates are unique, of course, but they share many skills in common, transferable skills that are particularly attractive to employers. W. Rocky Newman, Miami University

The share price of Tesla Motors shot up this week after a financial analyst said that the electric vehicle maker is “uniquely positioned to dominate” the auto industry.

Is Tesla, with its tightly integrated supply chain, following the strategy of another one-time dominant automaker – the Ford Motor Company – of over 100 years ago? Can it revolutionize the world by making an affordable electric car for the masses, much the way Henry Ford did with the Model T in 1908?

Henry Ford took control of his supply chain and made his own parts rather than buy from suppliers, which gave the company the scale needed to improve performance and lower costs. Now Musk is building a new “giga” battery factory, giving Tesla more

Trump's 'America first' trade policy ignores key lesson from Great Depression

Charles Hankla, Georgia State University

President Donald Trump declared his nearly two-week trip through Asia “tremendously successful,” but economic history should make us more skeptical.

During the trip, the president continued to promote his so-called “America first” trade policy. He is orienting the country distinctly toward protectionism and claiming that unilateralism in trade is good for America.

Here is the problem: President Trump’s approach to trade seems to be based on a false understanding of how the global economy works, one that also plagued American policymakers nearly a century ago. The administration has forgotten an important lesson of the Great Depression, and virtually all economists agree that this could have unfortunate consequences for the U.S. and the world.

Four Of The Biggest Mistakes You Can Make As A Small Business Owner

The marketing aspect of your business is essential to get right. Without marketing, your potential customers won’t know you exist, and they certainly won’t be coming to you to buy your goods and services. Marketing can start off small and grow larger as your profits increase because even the smallest amount of marketing is a lot better than doing none at all. However, it is important to remember that that small bit of marketing (or a large amount of marketing) has to be good and relevant if it is going to succeed. Here are some of the things to avoid when coming up with a great marketing strategy.

Not Having A Marketing Plan

Not having a marketing plan can be a big problem. It can cause overspending, or it can mean that you market in the wrong places to the wrong people. You might even put people off completely if you get it truly wrong. Hiring professionals to carry out your adv

Li has used his business acumen, as well as a habit of personally investing alongside his companies, to amass a fortune estimated by Forbes at $35.3 billion, making him the world's 23rd richest man.

"I've been working for a long time, too long," a relaxed and sprightly Li said on Friday after announcing he would step down on May 10.

Euro ticks higher as dollar weakens

LONDON, March 16 (Reuters) - The dollar fell to its lowest level against the Japanese yen since early March on Friday on reports of more turmoil in the Trump administration, while other markets were quiet as investors remained cautious.

Concerns that U.S. trade tariffs could hurt the global economy and personnel changes at the heart of the U.S. administration have rattled markets in recent days, pushing the dollar on to the back foot and leaving the yen as the main beneficiary.

Commerzbank said the yen was also boosted by domestic factors, paricularly confusion about when and how the Bank of Japan could start to ease record levels of monetary stimulus. Analysts at the bank said the BoJ was "sounding indefinably hawkish."

With more and more businesses relying on the internet and cloud-based networks to provide their working platforms it seems inevitable that cybercrime rates will be up as well. If your business is subject to a cyber attack you can lose money, customers, and a good reputation, and therefore cybersecurity is something you need to take seriously.

One of the most important reasons for tight cybersecurity in your business is to protect your clients’ data. The End Of Generic Home Building

If the phrase cognitive disengagement doesn’t ring any bells, it’s because city planners and architects have long been without the scientific backing to prove the effectiveness of their designs. That is until recently as studies have shown a direct link between boring buildings and depression. Although the first thought that pops up might be grey and dull city streets, suburbia also happens to be in the mix with its generic one-design-appeases-all approach.
A Direct Effect On The Economy
The perpetual investment in the bland is not only hurting the cognitive response of city and suburbia dwellers, but it also has an effect on growth and income. This is because the sexier, more glamorous cities and suburbs are able to attract different talent and tenants. The generic shoebox approach inevitably just lures those who can’t afford to go to these cities and a perpetual cycle of low income

It sometimes seems like our success in life can depend almost entirely on what other people think of us. However well-qualified you might be for a job, if the interviewer doesn’t warm to you, it’s unlikely you’ll be given the position.
